01 · Why Canonweave
A life is larger than the pages that select from it. Characters enter a novel with histories already in motion; their paths intersect, separate, and sometimes end, while the book chooses only certain moments to show. Canonweave makes that distinction visible without turning a writer's private reasoning into a machine-first control panel.
02 · Problem
Long stories collect truth across prose, story bibles, research, objects, dates, and decisions. One change can affect distant moments, and an AI can sound certain while relying on an outdated note or unsupported assumption. Flat notes can store facts, but they cannot show who knew what, why something happened, where an object moved, or which source governs.
03 · Approach
Connect people, groups, places, objects, moments, what characters know, causes, sources, and decisions. Each keeps a durable internal identity while authors work with readable names, so relationships survive a rename.
Keep each person's life path separate from the moments the book chooses to show. A moment can exist in the story world, remain off-page, wait for chapter placement, or appear from a named viewpoint.
Give authors a plain-language review space: capture a thought, answer only the questions needed to place it, preview every affected moment, then accept, reject, or set it aside with the reason preserved.
Give an LLM the same names, order, sources, and uncertainty the author sees. Imported material remains a suggestion until the author accepts it, and private planning notes never outrank the manuscript.
Keep the unpublished story in a separate private workspace with protected sign-in, recoverable storage, and a receipt for the exact release that is live. Jotter Down integration remains deliberately later, after this system proves itself on WESTFALL.
04 · Outcome
Live private release. WESTFALL is loaded as a source-backed timeline connecting character lives, events, what each person knows, where important objects move, cause and effect, research, and author decisions. Real unknowns stay visible instead of being filled in. This public casefile explains the design and privacy boundary only; the product requires authorization, and the manuscript remains private.
